Jamison, PA (March 20, 2019) – Jonathan Klass of Customers Bank presented Laura Jones of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County (BBBSBC) with a check for $7,500, in support of the agency’s mission—to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
BBBSBC serves children across all of Bucks County in their Community Mentoring program, and have students matched with mentors in their STEM School Mentoring Program in the Bensalem, Bristol, Centennial, Council Rock, Pennsbury and Quakertown school districts. Children in both of these programs achieve significant, positive outcomes both academically and socially, while also increasing their ability to avoid risky behaviors.
“One of the most important parts of building a strong community is ensuring that all children have access to safe and diverse opportunities for growth and enrichment,” said Richard Ehst, President and Chief Operating Officer of Customers Bank. “We are proud to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County to support its continuous efforts to change children’s lives for the better.”
“Having the support of strong community partners like Customers Bank is so important in enabling us to provide these programs for at-risk kids in Bucks County,” said Laura Jones, Director of Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County. “Our programs are a critical tool in the fight against the opioid crisis, because having a trusted adult in your life is one of the most significant protective factors in avoiding drugs & alcohol abuse. They also provide youth with the support they need to create higher goals for their future.”
